Arborist
We are seeking experienced Arborists to join our Recreation Works team, to help protect, maintain and enhance our city's trees.
The Opportunity
Our Arborists work within Council's Tree Works team, using arboriculture techniques to maintain Council's trees. In this role you will assist with the maintenance of trees by undertaking tree pruning, tree removal, root barrier installation and tree planting.
You will work collaboratively with your teammates to identify hazards and risks, and you will be responsible for reporting and documenting visual tree assessments.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have a Certificate III in Arboriculture and possess contemporary industry experience in tree removal / pruning, rigging, tree identification and tree health.
You will have demonstrated experience in correct pruning techniques, along with the ability to fell and remove trees according to Australian safety standards and environmental protection practices.
You will be motivated and have strong problem-solving skills, and an ability to work productively as a team member. These roles are visible to our community members and Excellent customer service skills are essential.
Having the following tickets is not essential, but would be highly regarded:
- Traffic Control
- Safe Work Near Overhead Power Lines
- EWP Ticket
- MR truck licence
- Dogman Ticket
Benefits
This is a permanent full-time role, working a 38-hour week, a salary range of $70,273 - $78,003 inclusive of a 5% market force + allowances + 12% p.a. superannuation.
Maitland City Council offers flexible working arrangements within our Recreation Team, which may include:
