The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join the Maitland City Council team as Director Strategy, Performance and Experience.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, this pivotal role is integral to achieving Council's strategic objectives and shaping its long-term direction. The Director Strategy, Performance and Experience provides strategic leadership and organisational guidance, with a strong focus on enhancing the community's experience of Council services through the development and implementation of initiatives that strengthen community wellbeing, engagement and service delivery.
As Director Strategy, Performance and Experience, you will lead a diverse portfolio and drive excellence across key areas, including:
- Organisation Strategy & Performance
- Integrated Planning & Reporting
- Productivity and Business Improvement
- Grants Management
- Customer Experience
- Events & Place Activation
- Civic functions
- Communications and Marketing
- Community Engagement
This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic leader to shape organisational capability, strengthen our customer experience, and support the delivery of high-quality services to our community.
About You
To be successful in this opportunity, we are seeking a highly capable leader with tertiary qualifications in Business, Communications, Community Engagement, Integrated Planning or related discipline, and substantial experience in leading teams responsible for building stakeholder relations.
The successful candidate will also bring a strategic and outcomes-focused approach, with the capacity to identify opportunities for innovation, optimise resources and drive continuous improvement. Equally important is the ability to deliver high-impact services that respond to community needs and expectations, improving the overall experience of our local community.
Significant leadership experience is also required, along with the ability to think strategically and inspire teams to achieve their full potential.
