The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join the Maitland City Council team as Director Corporate Services.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, this pivotal role will contribute to the achievement of Council's strategic objectives and long-term direction. The Director Corporate Services provides strategic leadership, governance oversight, and organisational guidance across Council's corporate functions, ensuring strong accountability to corporate and operational plans, organisational sustainability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
As Director Corporate Services, you will lead a diverse portfolio and drive excellence across key corporate areas, including:
- Finance & Rating
- Strategic Procurement & Accounts Payable
- Property Services
- Risk Management & Legal Services
- WHS & Wellbeing
- Human Resources, Organisational Development & Payroll Services
- Governance & Information
- Digital Services and IT Operations
This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic leader to shape organisational capability, strengthen governance, and support the delivery of high-quality services to our community.
About You
To be successful in this opportunity, we are seeking a highly capable leader with tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business, Commerce, or a related discipline.
You will bring substantial experience across one or more of the following areas: Finance, Integrated Planning and Reporting, Governance, Risk, WHS, Information Technology, or Human Resources. Local Government experience is advantageous, but not essential.
Strong commercial acumen and a demonstrated ability to enhance organisational capability and performance are essential.
Significant leadership experience is also required, along with the ability to think strategically, drive continuous improvement, and inspire teams to achieve their full potential.
