JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for 10 enthusiastic Library Assistants to join our team in delivering exceptional library service to our community. Liverpool Council’s Library and Museum Services operate six libraries, including the award winning Yellamundie Library and Gallery. Our libraries are visited by 1000’s of people each day as a place to work, play and study.
As a Library Assistant, you will deliver high quality customer service across library service points, supporting lending services, digital resource use and general enquiries. You’ll help promote our programs and events and contribute to maintaining a safe, welcoming and well presented library environment.
The library’s helpful and friendly staff are highly valued by the community and receive the highest ratings in community surveys.
As a library assistant your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct customer support to people using library services
- Using a wide range of technology and library equipment, including providing assistance with public access technology and online services
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking casual library assistants who:
- Be prepared, undertaking or have completed study towards a Library & Information qualification or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to interact confidently and communicate clearly with people
- Demonstrated experience working in a public library or customer service environment
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team
- Class C Drivers Licence.
