About the role
Resilient Sydney is a collaboration of all 33 councils of Greater Sydney working together to drive region-scale action that strengthens our city’s ability to survive, adapt and thrive in the face of chronic stresses and acute shocks. Resilient Sydney builds capacity across local government to address city-wide risks and build stronger, more resilient communities.
The Resilient Sydney Office is hosted by the City of Sydney. We’re looking for a proactive and adaptable Project Officer to play a key role in delivering the Resilient Sydney Strategy (2025-2030). If you are passionate about fostering high-quality engagement, possess expert project management skills, excel at building strong relationships and using data and evidence to drive resilience and sustainability outcomes, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful and real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- With the Resilient Sydney team,implementthe vision, objectives, actions and commitments within the Resilient Sydney Strategy including (but not limited to): collective impact programs, campaign and policy support and development, engagement and administration, project management, contract administration, high quality data collection and insight generation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
- Communicateeffectively to ensure Resilient Sydney actions and activities are effectively and accurately shared with stakeholders and the wider community through various communication and collaboration channels including social media posts, e-newsletters, reports, data visualisation tools and templates. Facilitate opportunities to share strategy action campaigns, key government messages, grants and industry updates to further engage.
- Prepare high quality stakeholder and community engagement processes and eventsfor councils, other levels of government, partners and communities across metropolitan Sydney. Provide technical support for virtual webinars and workshops and collate and distribute relevant materials and documentation pre and post virtual events.
- Support, maintain and evolveResilient Sydney’s data platforms including the existing Resilient Sydney Platform and website, to provide opportunities for Resilient Sydney to share data, strategy updates, case studies, tools and industry updates across Greater Sydney, to further engage with and reach external partners and stakeholders.
- Coordinate and supportusers of the Resilient Sydney Platform by collating new membership agreements, facilitating enquiries, preparing presentation slides for workshops and assist with preparing workshop materials.
- Develop, implement, and maintainprocesses to ensure high quality relationship management, including using Resilient Sydney’s Customer Relationship Management platform, to provide opportunities for City of Sydney, and Resilient Sydney to track and document strategy action updates and work priorities, including engagement and reach with external partners and stakeholders.
- Supportmoderation ofthe Resilient Sydney Outlook inbox and communications to respond to Resilient Sydney’s email enquiries and stakeholder requests on behalf of Resilient Sydney.
- Act as a responsive and professional point of contact for stakeholder inquiries via the Resilient Sydney inbox, ensuring timely and clear communication.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and legislative compliance in all activities.
Key Capabilities and Skills:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a natural ability to engage and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong organisational skills with proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently.
- Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal - adept at tailoring messages to resonate with diverse audiences.
- Proficient in data management and leveraging digital tools including social media platforms, CRM systems, and data management software to maximise impact.
- Flexible and resilient team player who thrives both independently and within a close-knit team environment and broader stakeholder ecosystem.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
