EXECUTIVE MANAGER COMMUNICATIONS AND CORPORATE PERFORMANCE
The Opportunity
As a member of Council's senior leadership team, you will contribute to the strategic management of Maitland City Council and play a key role in delivering the objectives of Council's Delivery Program and Community Strategic Plan.
This role is responsible for ensuring Council's planning, reporting and engagement frameworks are contemporary, integrated and aligned to organisational priorities, legislative requirements and community expectations.
You will lead the development and implementation of strategic communications, marketing and engagement initiatives that strengthen Council's reputation, build community trust and support strong relationships with government, industry and community stakeholders.
The role also leads organisational performance and business improvement initiatives that drive innovation, accountability and service excellence across Council. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will support a culture of continuous improvement, data-informed decision making and customer-focused service delivery.
You will oversee Council's advocacy and grants functions, identifying opportunities to secure external funding, strengthen strategic partnerships and influence outcomes that benefit the Maitland community.
The key service areas you will lead and drive excellence across include:
- Corporate planning and integrated reporting
- Organisational performance and service planning
- Communications and media
- Marketing and brand management
- Community engagement
- Advocacy and strategic partnerships
- Grants coordination
- Business improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
- Graphic design
About You
To be successful in this opportunity, we are seeking a highly capable leader with tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, communications, marketing, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
You will bring substantial experience in strategic, corporate and business planning and performance, complemented by a strong background in communications and community engagement strategies.
Your demonstrated leadership capability will be supported by your ability to engage, influence and build effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, while driving efficient, high-quality outcomes and delivering organisational objectives.
