Hospital Claims Assessor

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and driven Hospital Claims Assessor to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for assessing and processing public and private hospital claims in line with policy, legislative requirements, and performance standards.

Who are we?

What will you do? / How will you help
- Accurately assess and process public and private hospital claims within required timeframes
- Ensure compliance with fund policies, contracts, and legislative requirements
- Review hospital contracts and billing to determine benefit payments
- Meet productivity, QA standards, and KPI targets
- Liaise with internal teams, healthcare providers, and external stakeholders
- Handle inbound calls and enquiries from providers and members
- Contribute positively to team performance and continuous improvement
What do you need? /What are we looking for?
Skills
Full training is provided for this position but some of the skills that would set you apart for this role are:
- Experience in hospital claims, medical claims processing, or healthcare billing (highly regarded)
- Understanding of hospital systems, billing practices, or the health industry
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret policies and contracts
- Experience working towards KPIs and quality standards
- Ability to manage repetitive tasks efficiently without compromising accuracy
- Confident communicator who can liaise with a range of stakeholders
- Resilient, proactive, and brings a positive, can-do attitude
