About the Role
Under guidance of Council's Biosecurity Coordinator, undertake biosecurity operations across Council-managed and private lands, focusing on priority weed inspections and control; and undertake spray operations for a range of Council-managed land. Activities include:
- Undertaking property inspections on private and public property for the purpose of identifying and regulating weeds scheduled in accordance with the Biosecurity Act 2015.
- Identifying, recording, mapping, and reporting on the presence of scheduled and other weeds on properties.
- Undertake spraying operations for the management of parks, sportsgrounds, roadsides and other Council-managed land to provide weed and pest control, and for soil and turf management.
- Provide operational oversight and logistical coordination for programs of weed inspections, programs of weed control, and spray operations.
- Advising the Biosecurity Coordinator on the need to issue Biosecurity Directions as per the requirements of the Act.

About You
To be successful in the position, you will have:
- Certificate III in Horticulture, Agriculture or Conservation and Land Management (or equivalent).
- Current AQF3 Chemical accreditation training for handling and use.
- Class C Driver's Licence.
- Experience operating vehicles off-road.
- Knowledge of the Biosecurity Act 2015 and Biosecurity Regulation 2017.
- Ability to identify weeds growing in the Shoalhaven.
- Ability to provide support by mentoring and advising other team members.
- Ability to manage individual projects.
