We are currently seeking a caring and reliable Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our friendly team at Gumleigh Gardens Hostel in the Riverina Murray Region.

About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and takes pride in preparing nutritious, home-style meals for our residents.
You will support the delivery of high-quality food services while helping create a warm and welcoming dining experience for residents.
Weekend availability is required, with shifts available across various days and times.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting with meal preparation and cooking fresh meals
- Supporting kitchen operations and food service delivery
- Table service and clearing duties
- Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
- Working collaboratively with the care and hospitality team
- Helping provide a positive dining experience for residents
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in meal preparation and cooking
- Experience working in kitchens or bulk food preparation environments
- Understanding of food safety and HACCP standards
- A positive, team-focused attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends
- Aged care experience (desirable)
- Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)

Pre-Employment Requirements
