Play a key role in shaping community infrastructure by delivering high-quality civil designs for roads, drainage and municipal projects. This role combines technical design, project coordination and stakeholder engagement to support the successful delivery of infrastructure that serves the community.
About the role
This role is responsible for the design, drafting, estimating and associated field work for various municipal works and other special projects, as designated by the Design Engineer.
A snapshot of your new role:
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, designs and calculations for road works, traffic management schemes, stormwater drainage and other relevant municipal works
- Project manage and respond to technical queries on the projects allocated
- Prepare accurate schedules of quantities and design estimates for design using predetermined rates
- To assist with enquiries from Officers from other departments on engineering related matters
- Liaise with the public and answer resident/ratepayer enquiries, as required
- Respond to counter enquiries, correspondence and telephone calls
What you will bring to the role:
- Minimum 1 year experience in the delivery of Civil Infrastructure Projects
- Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Demonstrated Experience (formal training and basic work) in the use of AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail with ability to process and calculate complex technical information thoroughly and accurately
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workloads and projects with competing priorities
- Current “C” Class drivers’ licence
- Current Satisfactory National Police Clearance
