The Opportunity:
Our Mechanical Tradesperson works as part of our Workshop team, providing scheduled servicing, maintenance and unscheduled mechanical repairs for Council's plant, fleet and equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
Our Mechanical Tradespersons work on a variety of vehicles and plant, including tractors, large plant, heavy vehicles, small plant and light vehicles. They diagnose and repair mechanical, automotive electrical, plant hydraulics, automotive air conditioning and pneumatic systems as well as complex systems that are integrated into our fleet.
They are also responsible for providing guidance to stakeholders regarding the service, operation and maintenance of Council's fleet of plant and vehicles.
About you:
To be successful within this role, you will hold either a Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology/Mobile Plant Technology/ Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or related discipline.
You will have experience in repairing, diagnosis and maintenance of heavy plant, heavy and light vehicles. You will also have demonstrate time management skills and the ability to multitask, with the proven ability to work productively as a member of a team and contribute to team goals.
It is highly desirable to have the following tickets or willingness to obtain; Current Class HR Drivers Licence, TfNSW and Light Vehicle Inspection Certificate, Automotive air conditioning repairer licence and MVRIC licence.
This is a full-time, permanent role working a 38-hour week, with a base salary range of $73,619 - $81,717 per year based on demonstrated competencies + allowances + 12% super.
This role is a Monday - Friday role.
