About the role:
The National Business Analyst plays a key role in translating business and operational requirements into clear functional specifications, driving continuous improvement, and optimising processes.
This role focuses on understanding the technical and operational challenges of warehousing systems, processes, and technology integration to recommend and implement solutions.
Primary responsibilities:
- Support contract from a technical, actionable, functional specification perspective providing oversight to the Senior Manager Warehouse Optimisation to drive continuous improvement and ensure training programs are implemented and maintained in line with quality standards and expectations
- Translate the customer’s business and technical needs into clear, actionable functional specifications for process improvements, system enhancements, and potential automation solutions
- Analyse current operational processes within the customer’s current warehousing solution to identify inefficiencies, and propose process improvements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and enhance compliance
- Apply technical principles to understand and optimise processes, focusing on areas such as material handling, inventory management, potential for automation, and equipment layout
- Leverage data-driven insights and simulations to model and propose solutions for operational bottlenecks or resource constraints
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process flows, system requirements, and user stories, to guide the implementation and maintenance of business solutions
- Attend governance and command meetings at the contractual level in accordance with governance structure
- Review, develop/update and implement effective process, systems, practices and policies at a strategic level related to functional requirements and process improvements
- Act as the escalation point for operational issues, working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve matters promptly and effectively
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Experience gained in business analysis, continuous improvement, or engineering role, ideally within logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing environments
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with personnel at all levels, within and external to Toll
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively
- Mechanical and technical acumen, strong understanding of warehouse automation, and operational engineering within a warehousing context
- Lean Six Sigma certification or experience with process improvement methodologies preferred
- Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible for (and maintain) an Australian AGSVA Security Clearance
- Good understanding of mechanical systems, material handling equipment (MHE), automation, and operational processes in warehousing
- Previous experience in distribution and transport processes
- Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data to inform decisions and optimise business processes
